Born from the world of puppetry, L'Épouse awakens and seeks herself far from reality, amongst fantasies and nightmares. This solo portrays a figure, a fallen bride whose language is only body. Lost in the gaze of others, torn between different spaces, « l’épouse » slowly marches forward. The bodily state is the anchor point of this work which seeks transformation and alienation in the sense of being inhabited of multiple contradictory emotions. As a true encounter with the audience, this solo places self-representation at the heart of this revisited wedding march. The piece carries the desire to touch, to involve the audience who discover a figure as alienated as alienating.
