For this commission from the Festival d’Avignon and the SACD, Rebecca Journo invites sound artist Diane Barbé for a performance centered around the song of cicadas. Produced by the vibration of their membranes, this song rises with the temperature, becoming a marker of heat. Immersing herself in this microcosm, Rebecca Journo brings back visions of insect-women and hallucinatory drought. To the psychedelic modulations of Diane Barbé, her dance reanimates scorched bodies
