Jules Bourret originally trained as an electrician before joining the Performing Arts Bachelor's program at Aix-en-Provence University in 2015, specializing in lighting. Since 2016, he has been involved in the creation of La Déviation, a living and artistic research space in the north of Marseille. Between 2016 and 2020, he worked as a sound designer, lighting designer, and stage manager with companies such as En devenir 2, Les Estivants, L'art de vivre, and In pulverem revertis. In 2019, he joined the electroacoustic composition class at the Marseille Conservatory. His collaboration with La Pieuvre began in 2021 as lighting manager for the shows L'épouse and La Ménagère. It continued in 2022 with the creation of Portrait, for which he was responsible for the lighting design in collaboration with Rebecca Journo. They continued working together on the projects Les amours de la pieuvre (2024) and Bruitage (2025) in which he designed the lighting and also created most of its scenographic elements.
